I have always loved writing, when I was in primary school I l remember writing stories, my classmates read and passed amongst themselves, in primary 5 I and my friends started acting out some of my stories as drama during break and after school while we waited for pickup. Juniors enjoyed watching us, it was exciting. This continued till secondary school, story writing without the acting. I always thought I’d end up a writer, publicist, something related to writing anyways. Then I got into the university and my writing took a different turn, it became about my encounters in God’s presence, my experiences, lessons, insight from God’s word, I had notes pilled up with these kind of writings.
In 2014 while sitting in my very crowded room in the hostel, a voice spoke to me, I had just finished writing something down in my diary.” Don’t you think you’re being selfish with your writing, the world needs to see this” prior to this time I only shared my writings with friends I knew could relate to it, and blogging came to mind, it was either blogger or WordPress at the time and that very day I created a WordPress account, shared the idea with a friend of mine and today the rest is history. zinoscroll.com.ng was birthed, everything I wrote that year was from my archives, I still have a few I haven’t even put out there.
I later improved on a few things, went on and off a million times, had writers block more than I could imagine, cos my inspiration were solely rhema and you can’t force that. Due to the kind of content I blog, being consistent was beyond my control, though I tweaked things a bit by adding interviews and sharing other people’s write ups, beauty related post and fashion, news and gossip blogging never trilled me even when I was advised on several occasions to pick it up since it got good reads and everyone was doing it, I knew It wasn’t part of my vision.
I’m not the best writer out there, best believe i get someone to proofread my articles, I’m a typo queen if I do say so myself, I don’t know how to write professionally, trill and captivate my readers with words, I drop it the way it comes.
What am I trying to say, some of you are like me, you have awesome pieces written down somewhere or maybe in your heart, at a time as this, the world needs to read or hear them, don’t keep it to yourself, you might be helping someone.
