ZINOSCROLL: Please tell us about yourself as a person and as a photographer, where did you grow and what sparked your desire to photography
DIP-ACE : My name is David Ichukwu Patrick, I am from Benue state, but was born in Kaduna Nigeria.
I am a photographer who can rap, many people know me as Dip-Ace, the name gave birth to my brand name Dip Photos.I grew up in Kaduna State and have lived the most of my life here.
The desire to create great images fuel the passion I have for photography and the works of great photographers around the world helped a great deal.

ZINOSCROLL : What was your career path? How did you get from being an aspiring photographer to actually doing it full time.
DIP-ACE : My mind set before was that great photography can only be done by the white man, because of the vast and unlimited equipment they’ve got, but I went into research and bought courses online that taught other wise. I didn’t start being good enough but I kept at it, worked on myself until people began to believe in my art.
ZINOSCROLL : Which career influenced you, and how did they influence your thinking, photography and career path?
DIP-ACE : Music and graphic designing!!! I always wanted to try out photography so I can improve on my graphical skill and also so I can cut down cost for my crew. We didn’t have the money to pay for recording sessions and still pay for photo shoots, so I thought it wise if I learnt it myself, we would be able to satisfy our desires, lol and now the rest is history.
ZINOSCROLL : How do you educate yourself to take better pictures?
DIP-ACE : I buy photography courses online, I watch photography videos on YouTube and I ask for opinions from good photographers I have reach to.
ZINOSCROLL: what kind of music sparks your creativity
DIP-ACE : I listen to a lot of music, different genre and draw inspiration from them.

ZINOSCROLL: amongst your work which is your favorite and why?
DIP-ACE : I have a lot of favourites oo, each work has its testimony and different approach I took to arrive at my art *blushing* lol.

ZINOSCROLL: What is the one thing you wish you knew when you started photography?
DIP-ACE : I wish I had done a lot of researching during the time I started, I would have gone farther than where I am at the moment. Hehe
ZINOSCROLL: What is the hardest part of your job when shooting for yourself and when shooting for other people
DIP-ACE : Ahhh chei, ermm… I don’t think I have that part in my personal projects, but for clients, hmm getting them to communicate their hearts, the things they actually want. Lol

ZINOSCROLL: How do you deal with rejection of your work, loosing a job, not making a sale or a negative comment.
DIP-ACE : hmm, a tough one. Well, just like alot of professionals in my field would feel, It can be devastating but then I have learnt to encourage myself in such times, that there is more work to be done, and that theres always room for improvement. This keeps me going.
ZINOSCROLL: What is your favorite camera that you have ever used or owned
DIP-ACE : the Nikon D7200 is the best camera I ever used and still own it, it’s a 2015 APSC camera model from Nikon, and is currenty Nikon’s best APSC camera in the market at the moment.
ZINOSCROLL: what is the biggest mistake you have ever made
DIP-ACE : trusting a childhood friend to sleep over at my place, he woke up by 3am and ran off with my laptop that contained my recent un-backed up jobs, and he picked N30k from my pocket. Be mindful of the people you trust and let into your inner cycle.
ZINOSCROLL: what is your advice you would give a photographer just starting out.
DIP-ACE : I’d advice he/she to make more research in the field of photography they wish to explore, YouTube should be your new besty, view images of photographers you love daily, shoot (take pictures) daily and love your art.
As he mentioned earlier, David is also a rapper, heres a link to his most recent song AFRICAN MAN
