Welcome back to the blog!!!

I always start the year writting out my goals and fasting, seeking the face of God for directions for the new year.
Last year was quite an eventful year, won’t call it a bad year at all, I achieved 80% of my set goals to the glory of God.

For those of us that didn’t know I lost my dad August last year, it was the most trying period of my life, but I’m healing and it gets better with time.

I want to encourage us to make the most of our time on earth, this year be more grateful, pray more, be happier, keep right company, love, sow, be kind, learn a new skill, brush up your existing skill, travel, spend time with your loved ones, earn, save, have a vision board, set goals and work towards achieving them.

I was down casted and whenever the thought of praying came to mind I’d always shove it. i never discussed this with friends cuz I was conscious about not being the one that came off as always complaining, ungrateful, You know? Also knew deep down that Gods word is the only light that can bring me out of this dark place.

I was going through some personal stuff also that just made things worse. But then, I started listening to sermons on my phone. Before then I had to block a number of pages on social media that I knew looking at their content regularly would only make me sad, blocked some acquaintances too, i downloaded these messages offline and while I did chores in the morning I’d listen to them.

This particular day I listened to a sermon that triggered something in me, it was by Pastor Kingsley Okonkwo of David Christian, Centre Lagos Nigeria. He spoke about the deposit of peace God gives whenever we pray, the answers may take a while, but you feel this peace in your heart that God has everything under control.

No matter what you might be going through. It may be hard and frustrating but all you need do whenever you have anxiety about any issue is pray, not a prayer of compliant or worry, but casting your cares and uncertainties on God according to Philippians 4:7

Give God the load you’re carrying. The challenges might still be there as I earlier mentioned,even after the prayer, but now you’re calm. God is the Prince of peace, He bears that name for a reason

Have you prayed? Or have you been gossiping, complaining? Or telling people who can’t help you. Peace changes your attitude it makes you know that Gods got you, what’s more better than that ? So rejoice, you’re in the safest hands

Do you know you can’t worry and worship at the same time?a broken spirit dries up the bones, but a merry heart does good like medicine.

Drop all of your worries at the feet of Jesus. What you’re feeling is real, but it can change, it is not independent. The moment you start being grateful your spirits begins to feel lighter and lifted.

it’s been more than a month now and I’m no more in that place. Are there new corona virus cases everyday? Yes, Has a cure been found to Coronavirus? No , is black lives matter protests still ongoing? Of course, yes, has racism stopped? No. But I’m no more where I use to be mentally.

Makeup used to be therapeutic for me and I couldn’t sit down to make up to feel better. Everything was going left. What changed? My attitude,talking to God made everything better. Studying God’s word, reaffirming myself of God’s promises for my life made all things right, intentionally choosing to be happy.

You have to know that all your feelings are controlled by your thoughts, so control what you think about, When negative thoughts try to come to mind, yeah you will have those moments trust me, You need to gain full control of your mind and your thoughts by filling your spirit with Gods word.

Trust God and God alone
Bring it to Him in prayers
Back it up with praise.
Take charge of your thoughts.
These four things helped me transform my previous state of mind to a much better state and everything took take shape.
